Good-Better-Best Pricing Tier Builder

A good-better-best structure offers three packages at rising prices so the buyer compares your options side by side. Enter each tier with its name, price and features, and this builder lays them out as a compare table you can copy as HTML or download as an image. It also raises questions about your price gaps and feature differences for you to answer.

Free to use. Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent to our servers.

Your tiers

Up to three tiers, lowest first. List one feature per line. A feature typed the same way in two tiers lands on the same row of the table.

The billing period label is printed after the price, for example "per month" or "per user per year".

A decoy is an extra option placed next to the tier you want buyers to notice, so that tier looks like the better deal by comparison. It is optional.

Give at least one tier a price or a feature to see the compare table.

Results depend entirely on the numbers you enter. Check them against your own contracts and accounting.

Questions to consider

These are prompts drawn from what you typed, not rules. You know your buyers. Only you can answer them.

Add prices and features and questions about your tier structure will appear here.

How this works
  • Each tier you fill in becomes a column. Each distinct feature becomes a row, in the order it first appears. Matching ignores upper and lower case and extra spaces, so type a feature the same way in every tier that has it.
  • A tier does not inherit features from the tier below it. If Better includes everything in Good, list those features in both.
  • Copy as HTML puts a plain table on your clipboard with a header row, a price row and one row per feature. It has no styles, so it picks up the look of wherever you paste it.
  • Download as image draws the same table onto a canvas in your browser and saves it as a PNG.
  • Questions to consider compares the prices and feature lists you entered, for example the price of one tier divided by the one before it, or which features a higher tier adds. Each one is a question about your own numbers. None of them is a pricing rule or an industry figure.
  • Everything runs in your browser. Your tiers are stored only in the page address, which is what makes the share link work.

When to use this builder

Use it when you are turning a price list into packages, or checking packages you already sell. Seeing the tiers as columns makes the structure easy to inspect: a tier that adds only one feature, two tiers priced close together, a feature that disappears on the way up.

The questions under the table are prompts, not rules. They are built from the prices and features you typed, and only you know the answers for your market. If you add a decoy tier, read how to use the decoy effect first. A decoy is a real offer that a buyer may pick, so price it as one.

Presenting packages on a live call

A static table answers the questions you thought of in advance. A live quote can answer the ones the buyer asks. In forquotez you build packages ahead of time and give each one its own discount if you want. On the call they appear as cards with a compare table underneath, and the rep can switch between the prebuilt packages and a fully custom quote. The compare table can also be included in the PDF and on the share page.

Frequently asked questions

What is good-better-best pricing?

It is a way of packaging an offer into three tiers at rising prices, with each tier including more than the one below it. The buyer compares your options side by side.

What is a decoy tier?

A decoy is an extra option priced and scoped so that a neighboring tier looks like the better deal by comparison. It is still a real offer, so only add one you are willing to sell.

Does the builder tell me what to charge?

No. It lays out the tiers you enter and asks questions about the gaps between them. It states no benchmarks and recommends no prices.

Why does a feature show as not included in a higher tier?

Tiers do not inherit features from the tier below. A feature is marked included only where you typed it, so list shared features in every tier that has them and spell them the same way.

What does Copy as HTML give me?

A plain table with a header row, a price row and one row per feature. It has no styling, so it takes on the look of the page or editor you paste it into.
